OK, granted not our most proud moment, as a Brit,
but it is strange that all things English are now so desperately appealing to Americans?!
We usually hide in our house, avoiding the festivities, but we do actually make a birthday cake for America each year. The kids decorate a vanilla sponge with blueberries and raspberries to look like an American flag.
This year we broke with custom and had a friend over and her 2 kids, and after a light meal of grilled seafood kabobs washed down with campari soda and Pinot Grigot, we settled down to a 2-hour inpromptu play by all the kids. It was hilarious!
I'm mature though...watch me...HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!
